Easy & Soft Bread Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamun is a very popular Indian Sweet Recipe...It’s  a traditional & famous Indian sweet recipe. Today’s version is made from bread. Spongy bread balls soaked in aromatic syrup tastes like no other.There are many instant mixes available in the market but no one comes even close to the homemade gulab jamuns made from bread.Making this sweet from bread is also very easy.So do try the delicious sweet & share your opinion.

INGREDIENTS :

                                   1. 16 Bread Slices

                                 2. 100-125 ml. Full Cream Milk  

                                 3. 150 gm. Sugar (for syrup)

                                4. 300 ml. Water(for syrup)

                                5. 1/3 tsp Cardamom Powder

                                6. Pistachios, Raisins & Cardamom Powder(for stuffings)

                                7. Some Kesar Strands

                                8. Oil to fry

                               

: Method :

* At first take bread slices and cut all its sides with knife and then break the slices into small pieces. Now add full cream milk in the bread in small quantities and start to knead it. Continue kneading the bread till the a soft and tight dough is prepared.

* In the meantime take a separate pan and add sugar and water to make the sugar syrup. Leave the sugar to boil for 7-8 minutes.  Now we shall make gulab jamun balls from the dough. Take a generous portion of the dough, roll it round and then flatten to fill it with the special stuffings. Then roll it round once again. Make sure that the bread balls don’t feature any crack. Otherwise your jamun will crack open while frying. Make 7-8 bread balls from the dough.

* After 7-8 minutes check the sugar syrup and add cardamom powder to make it aromatic and once again leave it for 7-8 minutes to thicken. On the other hand heat oil in a pan to fry the gulab jamun. Once the oil is medium hot put all the bread balls into it to fry. Fry all the balls properly till they are golden. Once done take them out and immediately put all of them in the sugar syrup that should have been prepared by this time.You may add some saffron strands in the sugar syrup before putting the gulab jamuns. Now we shall boil the gulab jamuns in the sugar syrup for 3-4 minutes. After that switch off the gas and leave the gulab jamuns as it is for 10-15 minutes.

Here our soft and tasty homemade Bread Gulab Jamun is ready to serve hot.
