Ingredients : – 

  1.   200 gm red lentils(masoor dal)
  2.   2 sliced finely chopped tomatoes
  3.   2 medium sized finely chopped onions
  4.   2 chopped green chillies
  5.   1 teaspoon grated ginger
  6.   1 teaspoon grated garlic
  7.   2 slit green chillies
  8.   some chopped coriander leaves
  9.  1 teaspoon sugar
  10.  1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  11.  1/2 teaspoon panchforon
  12.   2 bayleaves
  13.   2 dry red chillies
  14.   1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  15.   1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  16.   1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  17.   1 teaspoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  18.   1/4 teaspoon asafoetida(hing)(optional)
  19.   1 tablespoon ghee
  20.   salt to taste
  21.   2 tablespoon mustard oil
  22.   water to boil the dal

Method :

At first boil the dal for 10-12 minutes on a pan in lukewarm water.Now take a pan and fry onion,garlic,ginger & tomato for 4-5 minutes.Add all the dry masala in it and cook it for 2 minutes.Add dal into it.Mix well spread coriander leaves & salt to taste.You can add some water if the dal becomes very thick.Cook it for 2 minutes.

For tadka,take a tadka bowl,add ghee,cumin seeds,dry red chilli,hing & red mirch powder & stir it.Give the tadka mixture in to the dal.After mixing it with the dal,ready our Special Masoor Dal Tadka.Serve it with roti or hot rice….
