Ingredients :

                               1. 1 Chopped Cabbage

                               2. 3 Bay Leaves + Some Whole Spices

                               3. 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds

                               4. 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (Hing)

                               5. 2 Diced Potatoes

                               6. 5-6 Grated Garlic

                               7. 1 tsp Grated Ginger

                               8. 1 Dry Red Chilli

                               9. 2 Chopped Onions

                             10. 2 Chopped Tomatoes

                              11. 2 Slit Green Chillies

                              12. 1/2 Cup Green Peas

                              13. 1/2 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder

                              14. 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder

                              15. 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder

                              16. 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder

                              17. 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder

                              18. 1 tsp Sugar

                              19. Salt to Taste

                              20. 1 tsp Ghee

                              21. 2 tbsp Mustard Oil


: Method :

  • At first we shall grated one whole cabbage and wash and rinse it properly. After that take oil in a pan, heat it and add bay leaves, whole spices, cumin seeds and asafoetida and saute for a while. Then add diced potatoes and grated garlic & ginger and saute them well. Add a dry red chilli with it as well. After that add chopped onion & a little salt and saute all the things by covering the pan. After a minute add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder and green chillies. Stir them well and then add chopped cabbage. Mix them slightly and cover the pan for 2 minutes so that the cabbage reduce in size.

  •  After 2 minutes you will see the cabbage has reduced in size and has started to release water. That’s why we don’t need to add any extra water. Then add green peas into it and mix well. Now we shall add all the dry powdered masalas along with salt to taste. Mix the cabbage with all the masalas and cover the pan for 7-8 minutes to cook it further.

  • After that 7-8 minutes add sugar and chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Adding sugar is vital in this dish. In the end add 1 tsp of ghee and home-made garam masala powder to bring that amazing flavour. Give a good mix and here our Super Tasty & Spicy Cabbage Peas Curry is ready to serve.
