I have prepared this Matar Ke Chole or Matar Ghugni in pressure cooker.This Matar Ke Chole is very famous in UP, Bihar & Maharashtra.It is also a famous Kolkata Street Food.In Bengal it’s called Ghugni Chaat. This Sukhe Matar Ki Sabzi or Dry Yellow Peas Curry is very easy to cook.I’ve used some Special Masala which enhance its taste and this recipe is without Onion & Garlic.

Ingredients : 
 

                   1. 400 gm yellow peas or matar (soaked for 10-12 hrs)
                   2. 1 chopped potato
                   3. 100 gm paneer small cubes(optional)
                   4. 2 tomatoes paste
                   5. 2 slit green chillies
                   6. some chopped coconut 
                   7. some coriander leaves
                   8. 2 bay leaves, 3 dry red chillies
                   9. 1 pinch of asafoetida (hing)
                  10. 1 tspn ginger paste
                  11. 1 tspn turmeric powder
                  12. 1 tspn cumin powder
                  13. 1 tspn coriander powder
                  14. 1 tspn kashmiri red chilli powder
                  15. 1 tspn garam masala paste
                  16. 1 tspn sugar
                  17. salt to taste
             18. 3 tbspn mustard oil






Method :
                Step 1 Boil the peas in a cooker and give 2 whistles on high flame.After cooling the cooker,open it and keep aside the boiled peas from the stock.Don’t throw the peas stock away.
         
                Step 2 Now Take a pan & after heating it give oil, let it heat up.Fry the paneer pieces for 1 minute & take them out from the pan.Give bay leaves and hing, cumin seeds,red chillies & stir for few seconds.When the aroma comes from it add potatoes to fry for 2 minutes on medium flame,now add coconut and fry for 1 minute.

                Step 3 : Now add ginger,tomato paste.Add green chillies,stir it for another 2 minutes & cover the lid.Opening the lid add all the powdered masalas including salt and mix it with a dash of water.Cook it for 2 minutes.Now give boiled peas and add 1/2 cup of stock.After mixing it cover the lid for 8-10 minutes on medium flame.


               Step 4 : Open the lid and add sugar and coriander leaves and garam masala paste & mix well.Give all fried paneer into it.Ready our super tasty and spicy matar ke chole or street style ghugni chaat .Garnish it with chopped onions and coriander leaves and coconut and a little special masala…Enjoy the dish and don’t forget to inform me..


(Ingredients Of Special Masala :- Dry roasted & Grind 1/2 tspn Cumin Seeds,Coriander Seeds,Saunf,1 Dry Red Chilli,2 green cardamom…)
